An Easter Celebration and a nightstand update

I Love Easter and the reason we celebrate...the resurrection.

Easter Break...Groveland, CA

We started our Celebration with about a BILLION eggs to decorate, thanks Grandma!

This was one of my favorite parts of the Celebration. We got a knock at the door, the night before Easter. As we all ran to the front of the house, we heard a car honk.  Weird....we ran outside only to find our house decorated.  This banner was set up, the lanters were lit and we were in ahhh. What a beautiful way to start our Easter Celebration. I wish I could have left it up all Summer.  We felt so special..

We had baked breads, spring salads, casseroles and beautiful pastries...

All those eggs, I think we counted over 200...had to be hidden so the games could begin.

Gettin on the game face

 1..2...3..GO!!!

Even the matriarch of the family was in on it...we love our Nana!

Ok, in terms of the nightstand...This weekend = End Result

Just can't get enough coups!

 Le Coupe

So here we have it! Coupe number 2.  Not sure why I have a fascination with chicken coups.  Strange...huh????  Well, I guess I can blame it on my mama.  She was the chicken 4-H leader while I grew up in our small little country town.
But the deal is...I have no chickens.  My thought is, maybe I get 3 little chics for my 3 little gals and surprise them on Easter morning OR do I cover it it in Shabby Chic fabric and make a play house out of it? wait, no...maybe I put a few love birds in it??
Ideas welcome!!!!!! (free the dog, first on my list)

Dads and Daughters

Dads and Daughters, it sure can be a beautiful relationship.  I was blessed to have had an incredible father who adored me, loved me and taught me the most important lessons in life. My dad treated me kindly and respectfully.  He was very proud of me and would glow when we were together.  He was an encourager and a teacher of Gods word.
My Dad could hardly wait for grandchildren ....he was an affectionate man and could hardly wait to wrap his gentle arms around my babies.  He was there for me the day before KatieGrace, my first, was born.  He layed his hands on my tummy and blessed her beautiful Godly words.  He missed her birth as he had driven 9 hours home just one day before her arrival.  He waited patiently to meet her and I was so excited for the two to get aquainted.  He drove back up just as soon as he could..she was 2 weeks old. He held her, kissed her, prayed with her.  I could tell, when it was time to go....he did not want to give her up.  It was so hard for him to say goodbye, I could see in his eyes how proud of her he already was, he wanted to teach her all he had taught me.  I saw that same glow about him when he was with her that day, the same glow he had when he was spending time with me.  2 months later, he passed away.  This time we would drive the 9 hours to be with him.  That was the hardest goodbye I have ever had to say.  But I was blessed! I was blessed by him each day of my childhood.  At first I felt like it was so unfair, we were suppose to write our book "Dads and Daughters", he was suppose to be there for my children.  Then....it hit me and it hit hard.  You see, my Dad always told me he prayed each night for my husband. When I was 8 years old.....that was a little strange.  As the years went by, I would just say "OK  Dad....I know...you tell me ALL the time". Well, this weekend I realized a couple of things. My Dads prayer had been answered and my daughters have been blessed with an incredible father, that man my Dad prayed about nightly, who adores them, teaches them, respects them, encourages them and loves the heck out of each of them.  Last night I saw that same sparkle in his eyes as he proudly took his oldest on a date to the Father Daughter dance at the middle school.  They were shining with smiles as they strolled out of the house and they were still smiling when rolled back into the house.  I LOVE that my daughters will share that same relationship with their Dad as I did. What a Blessing!

It is what I love to do!

I began today's post with the before and after pictures of my house transformation.  We bought a 40 year old house, 7 years ago, and are still workin on it daily.  I have a personal buddy/blogger friend that is dying for me to post the shots where it all began but.....can't get my scanner off blk and wht and EJ is gone to soccer, no help around.
So, I thought maybe I should just show some fun.  Decorating is what I love to do..my mind is always turning when I look around the room.  I think I change things up at least daily.  It might be a small change but it is a let out for me, I love to gather and I really love to take the gatherings and share! Here is a glimpse.......

She stands, very tall, in my living room.  I love her chippy white paint and elegant shape.  On top, she is crowned with a silver pedestal, bay leaves and a garden crown.

A fun find at a boutique, entry to laundry room
I have shown this pic before, old ironing board, a wreath hanging from the door and an angel for protection.
Wow, I must have a thing for angels, here we have another, she sits next to a muck bucket filled with cotton.  I love the natural organic look of cotton!
One very large clotche with antlers...
Too much going on here....I have moved the pedestals out but the letters are the best part, everyone in the family is represented including the dog!
This is KatieGraces room - almost 12, this year we are repainting for her birthday..hmmm any ideas? This time, she may not get to choose (get a load of that green!!)
And here we have little Miss Allie's room, the newly 9 year old. We rearranged yesterday but you get the idea!
 Aww, my baby.....
Just a piece of her room, I must not have made her bed this day, but again, you get the idea.
Thanks for hanging at the Jepson house for a few minutes...now to figure out the before and afters....more to come!
